The Flame Vase | 5-Inch Celadon Meiping

The kiln left a whole ember on this one.

Copper red is the most unstable glaze in the workshop. Most of the time it goes grey, or green, or nothing at all.

This piece took it fully - a bloom of violet inside the red, feathering at the tail, sitting on pale celadon like something still burning.

Details

• Hand-thrown celadon, reduction-fired in Yixing
• Approximately 5 inches tall
• Large copper-red flame mark
• Glazed inside, holds water

Care

Wipe with a damp cloth. The interior is glazed and will hold water, but the piece is not meant for the dishwasher or the microwave.
