The Petal Cup

A cup shaped like a flower that has not decided to open yet.

The wall is pressed while the clay is still soft, so the petals are not decoration laid on top - they are the body folding.

Fill it with a pale tea and the folds go almost white. Fill it with something darker and the petals disappear.

• Small tasting format, glazed inside and out
• Each piece has its own crackle pattern

Care

Hand wash with warm water and a soft cloth. Let it come to room temperature before pouring anything hot, and never move it straight from the fridge to boiling water. The crackle will slowly take on the color of the tea you drink; that is the glaze settling, not wear.
